Monday morning calls for a creamy, dreamy (yet healthy) peppermint almond milk mocha. It's dairy-free, refined sugar free, and couldn't be more simple to make. I used my AICOK milk frother, and it turned out perfect! See details below, and learn more about the benefits of cacao...
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup strong brewed coffee
- 2/3 cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of your choice)
- 1.5 tbsp unsweetened cacao powder***
- 8 drops of stevia, monk fruit extract (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/8 tsp peppermint extract
Directions:
Heat the almond milk in a pot on the stove over low-medium heat (or use a frother if you have one). Then blend together with the coffee, cocoa powder, stevia, and peppermint extract in a high powered blender for 20 seconds.
Pour in a mug, and enjoy!

2.) Cacao is hormone-balancing and contains phenylethylamine, which acts as a natural antidepressant to the brain and helps to release happy hormones and elevate our mood.
3.) Aids in weight loss and fights against insulin resistance.
4.) Protects against heart disease
5.) Rich in Magnesium which helps reduce muscle soreness after a workout, and also helps to alleviate migraines.
