Viome Gut Test / Gut Healthy "Blizzard Bowl" (GF, VO)

I mentioned that I recently did the Viome gut health test, and when I got my results back, I also got a list of my personal gut health "superfoods"(as well as foods to avoid, I see you cashews and chickpeas... tear).

But with this awesome information, I've been able to curate my own recipes and meals to optimize my personal gut health and improve what needs more attention.

My "Superfoods":

My "Foods to Avoid" (temporarily):

So I made this "Blizzard Bowl" using some of the food recommendations from my Viome test, and it turned out DELICIOUS (no digestive side effects!). This rich, creamy, chocolatey, coconut goodness checks all the gut health boxes. I incorporated a lot of naturally gut healthy foods but I focused specifically on the "superfoods" that were recommended to me personally (papaya, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, swiss chard, buckwheat, etc.).

Again, these "superfoods" are going to look different for everyone, since our microbiomes are always changing and are completely different from one another. But there are many foods that we can all incorporate more of if we want to work on our gut health, and I've included some of those as well.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup frozen coconut milk (nourishes the digestive lining with electrolytes and healthy fats)

1 cup water

1 scoop coconut collagen (I use Primal Kitchen)

1 scoop collagen peptides

1/2 cup papaya (my Viome superfood)

2 Tbs cacao powder

1/2 banana (fiber, easy to digest, naturally sweet)

1/2 cup steamed then frozen swiss chard (my Viome superfood)

1/2 cup steamed then frozen zucchini

Toppings: buckwheat, walnuts, brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds (all Viome superfoods) & blueberries and coconut shreds (added antioxidants and fiber)

Directions:

Blend all ingredients together, and then add toppings of your choice.

Other options for gut-healthy toppings: yogurt with live cultures, nut butters, chia seeds (fiber), more berries, etc.

Enjoy!
